When I saw the pics for Italian Vogue I got a lump in my throat:….
When I was growing up and using modeling as a way to break into the industry and as an escape from my home life, my mother would sabotage all my big modeling breaks. [Guess Campaign, a shoot with Bruce Weber, A Huge GAP perfume ad] She really loved having control of keeping me down. I didn’t get it then. If she hated me so much then why wouldn’t she just let me go?….I grew to understand it as I got older. if I had made it big time she wouldn’t of had a punching bag around. Being in Italian Vogue is not just amazing because it’s Italian Vogue but to me it’s also a sign that my mom didn’t win in the end. I may be 30 but I am beautiful and I will continue to be beautiful thru the rest of my life because I am human and fearless of exposing that. That is beautiful. The people that write me such hateful comments shouldn’t judge someone till they’ve walked in their shoes. Everyone has a story as do I. The way you treat me is your karma, the way I respond is mine. To the lovers, I can’t even begin to tell you how amazing you guys are. Ur weight is 10 times the strength of a h8r anyday. U guys are my heart beat.

I love that I did something completely natural. No high heels, no make-up, no glitz and glam. Beauty is everywhere not just in make-up, and pop culture popularity of what is “in”. The most “daring” thing I can do and be proud of being a part of is anything progressive that opens people eyes to looking at things outside the box of what defines beauty and what is acceptable. Life is beautiful! Different perspectives on it is amazing!!
Being progressive is the ultimate message.
